Festival Info

Contact Festival takes place on Friday, December 28 and Saturday, December 29 at BC Place in Downtown Vancouver. Contact Festival is All Ages with a 19+ Bar and 19+ VIP Area. There are two stages available at the festival. Food and drinks are also available for purchase at the venue.

Schedule

Doors open at 5:00pm each day and the show will end at 12:00am. The festival schedule will be released through social media closer to the festival date.

Purchasing Festival Passes

Festival Passes can be purchased here. Payment Plans can be used for all festival passes available. Visa Debit cards can be used for purchasing festival passes.

Delivery Options are for your E-Ticket or Harcdcopy Ticket, not for Wristband delivery. If you choose Mail as a delivery Option, you will receive a hardcopy ticket in the mail as opposed to a Mobile E-Ticket.

Entry to the Festival

General entry to the venue is through Gate A (closest to Robson St. and Beatty St.). There will be two entrance lines available. The first line will start near Gate H for guests arriving from the direction of Robson St. The second line will start near Gate B for guests arriving from the East of BC Place. Pre-screening will start at 4:30PM each day. Doors will open at 5:00PM. See below for VIP entry details. For your safety, Security staff will conduct a thorough screening including bag check and pat-down upon entry. You can help reduce wait times by reviewing the following guest policies, being prepared and arriving early. Please find additional information outlined in detail below.

VIP

VIP is 19+ only and include VIP Entrance to the festival, private bar and private VIP area that stretches throughout the center of the floor with tables and seating areas. VIP coat check is available inside the VIP area on the floor.

VIP ticket holders can enter through a VIP express entrance at Gate H. This entrance will be accessible from the Robson Beatty Street side. Please make your way to Gate H and look for VIP signage to the right of the Gate H box office window. VIP coat check is available inside the VIP area on the floor. Regular ticket holders can purchase an upgrade to VIP – please see the VIP guest service desk located on the floor near the VIP area entrance.

Wristbands

Two-day ticket holders will receive a wristband when entering BC Place. One-day ticket holders do not require a wristband. Your two-day wristband will grant you entry into the second day of the festival without requiring another ticket, however you will be required to go through security screening to enter the venue on Day 2. Please note that two-day wristbands are non-transferable and must not be tampered with, cut or removed. If your wristband looks tampered with upon entry, you may be denied entry on Day 2.

Will Call

It is strongly recommended that tickets are printed (or available digitally on your device) in advance to avoid lineups on the day of the event. The Ticketmaster Box Office located at 765 Pacific Blvd will be open for advanced pick up Monday to Friday from 9:00AM – 5:00PM. Holidays hours for the box office are as follows:
Dec 24: 9:00AM – 1:00PM Dec 25 & 26: Closed
Dec 27: 9:00AM – 5:00PM Dec 28 & 29: Gate H Box Office will open at 3:00PM. On the show days, if someone has left hard-copy tickets for you to pick-up, please go to the Gate H Box Office.
To pick up your tickets at the venue you will need your confirmation number, photo ID, and the credit card used to purchase the tickets. All guest list and media tickets will be located at Gate H for pick up. There will be a separate line set up for VIP ticket pick up at Gate H. Ticket issues will be resolved at the Gate A Box Office, which opens at 4:30PM.

In & Out Privileges

There are no in/out privileges once inside the stadium, except for emergency purposes.

Coat Check & Lockers

For ease of access, guests are encouraged not to bring bags to CONTACT. Guests are required to participate
in a patdown upon entry into BC Place, and all bags will be inspected prior to entry.

Bags, purses, backpacks or bulky items including large coats must be checked upon entry. Coat Check and Lockers will be located on the 200 level right when you first enter the event. All items must be picked up by the end of each night.

Dress Code

CONTACT is an all-ages event. Festival attire must be legally appropriate and respectful of other guests.
BC Place should be considered an ‘open-air’ stadium, even with the roof closed. We encourage all guests to
dress for the outside weather conditions. Coat Check and Lockers are available on site to allow the safe
storage of clothing and belongings you do not wish to carry.

Code Of Conduct

BC Place is committed to providing a safe, comfortable and enjoyable experience for everyone at CONTACT. We invite you to help us make CONTACT an experience that is welcoming and respectful for all guests, and those working the event, regardless of race, gender, age, sexual orientation, ability, physical appearance, body size, national origin, ethnicity, or religion. Any guest not respecting the Code of Conduct may be removed from
the venue and may be subject to arrest by law enforcement.

Unacceptable behaviour includes (but is not limited to):
• Harassment, including unwelcome or hostile behavior, physical contact or sexual attention
• Intimidation, including stalking or unwelcome following
• Discrimination
• Foul or abusive language, or obscene gestures
• Physical abuse, fighting or making threatening remarks or gestures
• Possession and/or use of illegal substances
• Possession of an item that can be used as a weapon causing harm to others
• Impairment related to alcohol or drug consumption
• Providing alcohol or intoxicants to a minor
• Smoking of any substance (including e-cigarettes)
• Disruption of the event, including throwing objects, or trespassing in restricted areas

Security Screening

Guests are required to pass through security screening upon entry to the venue. Screenings will include a bag check and/or pat-down search. Refusal to submit to the security screening will result in denial of entry to the venue. Guests may be asked to provide picture ID based on observable concerns for public safety, and BC Place security may deny entry on that basis. Any guest that is denied entry or removed for any violation of facility rules will not be issued a refund and may be prohibited from returning for Day 2.

Illegal Items

Guests in possession of any illegal items or substances will be refused entry and/or removed from the venue. The Guest will be required to surrender the illegal items to BC Place Security and/or relevant authorities, and may be subject to arrest by law enforcement.

Prohibited Items

Guests entering the venue will either be required to surrender any Prohibited Item to BC Place for disposal, or
store the item off the property. Prohibited Items include any items, either legal or illegal in nature, where
possession is restricted from entry into BC Place by Federal, Provincial, or Municipal law, regulation, or by the
Event or BC Place Policy. Prohibited Items are subject to change, and security measures may be increased at any time. These measures include, but are not limited to, a more thorough search of persons and property.

Prohibited items include (but are not limited to) the following:
• Sharp Objects, Weapons, and potential Projectiles of any kind.
• Unsealed products or packages that show evidence of tampering (including opened or unsealed cannabis
packs, opened or unsealed packs of cigarettes, unsealed feminine hygiene products, etc.).
• Substances that cause intoxication or impairment, including Alcohol, Illegal Drugs, and derivatives of
prohibited substances. Exceptions may be made for those with medical requirements – please see
MEDICAL EXCEPTIONS & SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS below.
• Flasks or Drug Paraphernalia.
• Cameras with a Detachable Lens.
• Video Recording Equipment including Go-Pro devices, Poles and Selfie Sticks.
• Outside Food & Beverage, including Candy and Gum.
• Hard-sided Bottles, Cans or Cups (including glass, metal, hard plastic, ceramic and other materials). See
WATER BOTTLE policy below for additional information.
• Glow Sticks, Laser Pointers, Flammable Liquids, Pyrotechnics or any Incendiary Devices.
• Aerosol Cans, Paints or Marking Devices.
• Masks, Pacifiers, Camel-backs, Bota Bags, Hula Hoops, Poi Balls, Stuffed Animals or Dolls (including
plush backpacks), Balloons, Balls, Inflatables, Frisbees or any other items which could compromise public
safety and/or harm the reputation of the event.
• Gang-Affiliated Clothing or Markings.
• Large Chains, Spiked Jewelry or Costume Accessories that may potentially be hazardous to others.
• Bags larger than those shown in the pictures above.
• Signs, Flags or Displays that in the reasonable opinion of BC Place are considered offensive, racist,
discriminatory, contain inappropriate language, or are religious, political or commercial in nature.
• Any other items deemed to be potentially hazardous to others.

Medical Expectations & Special Requirements

Exceptions to Prohibited Items may be made for those with medical requirements and/or special requirements.

Water Bottles

One EMPTY clear, soft-sided plastic water bottle will be permitted per person. Hard-sided Bottles, Cans or Cups (including glass, metal, hard plastic, ceramic and other materials) are NOT permitted. Permitted bottles can be filled from water fountains inside the venue.

Food & Beverage

A selection of food and beverage will be available for purchase throughout the venue. Permanent concession stands accept credit card and cash. Portable stands accept cash only.

Alcohol

Alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase by guests who are aged 19+ and provide two valid pieces of ID at the check-point locations. A valid 19+ wristband AND handstamp are required to purchase alcohol. 19+ wristband and handstamps can be validated at section 221 and on the floor in section 130 and 151. Alcohol purchases are limited to 1 serving per person at a time.

Smoking

BC Place is a smoke-free environment. Smoking of any kind including the use of vaporizers (vapes), juuls, e-cigarettes, and vape juice or liquid is prohibited on stadium property. There are no designated smoking areas on BC Place property. Smoking of any kind, or the use of alternative smoking devices, on BC Place property will result in eviction from BC Place without refund.

In & Out Privileges

There are no in & out privileges once inside the stadium, except for emergency purposes.

Camera Policy

Guests may use personal cameras and mobile phones to take photos inside the venue. Cameras with detachable lenses are not permitted. Professional video cameras or video recording devices are not permitted
at the event.

Masks

Masks must meet all requirements of the prohibited items list. As a condition of entry, security will inspect all parts of the mask. Prior to entering the regular entrance lines on the exterior of BC Place, staff will direct guests to a specific line for an enhanced search. Refusal to submit the mask for enhanced screening will result in denied entry to the venue. The mask must not be made of materials that could compromise public safety, or create a risk to other guests, and it must not contain any sealed cavities. Once the mask has been searched and approved, the guest will be permitted entry with the mask. The mask can only be worn on the main event floor and the Section 212 event area only. The mask must not be worn in any other area inside the venue, including the Food Court and concourses. Guests wearing masks of any type inside the venue (outside the main floor and the Gate E event area) will have the mask removed, and may be required to leave the venue.

Unaccompanied Children

Guests aged 13 and under are to be accompanied by a paying guest aged 16 or older to enter the venue. Guests aged 14 and over may enter the venue unaccompanied. Guests aged 16 and older may accompany more than one Guest aged 13 or under.

Parent & Guardian Waiting Area

Parent and Guardian Waiting Area is located inside Gate H from 5pm to Midnight for both days. Please note, parents and guardians are welcome to enter and leave the waiting area, however there is no access into the bowl for the concert.

ATMs

ATMs are located in the following areas: Sections 116 (Food court area), 127, 154 (Floor), 216 and 225.

Transit Schedule

Get home safe! The last Skytrain leaves Waterfront Station at 1:16am. The NightBus routes operate all night. Additional transit service questions can be directed to 604.953.3333.

Taxi Stands

A taxi stand is located at the Plaza of Nations on Pacific Boulevard. Guests are asked to cross Pacific Boulevard via the overhead walkway, which can be accessed from the outer concourse near Gate E.

Parking

Vehicle parking in lots closest to the stadium ranges from $10 to $25 during event times. Downtown parking meters and parking lots range from $3 to $10 for evening parking.

Exiting

There are two exit points after the concert:
1. Gate A: Follow ramp 216 to exit the venue at Gate A. Guests will exit BC Place at Terry Fox Plaza.
2. Gate C – available only for those who are collecting items from Coat Check. Collect your checked items
then exit onto the outer concourse of BC Place on the Griffiths Way side of the stadium.

Please note that once you exit the venue you cannot re-enter. If you are picking up items from Coat Check, please ensure you return to the Coat Check location BEFORE LEAVING as you will not be permitted to reenter to pick up your items once you have exited the venue.

Community Partner

For over 40 years, Big Brothers of Greater Vancouver has been working to provide valuable mentorship relationships for children and youth across the Lower Mainland. CONTACT is proud to have Big Brothers join the festival as a community partner this year. There will be a donation centre on Terry Fox Plaza, outside the
main entrance to the venue, where you can donate bags of clothing, shoes, linens, and more. A full list of
accepted items can be found here. There will be an additional donation centre at Guest Services where you can donate any unwanted layers of clothing. Unclaimed lost & found items will also be donated to Big Brothers at a later date. These donations help Big Brothers of Greater Vancouver achieve their mission of putting a mentor in the life of every child and youth who needs one.
